A celebration service was held at the Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, FL guided by Pastor Dennis. Many of her friends and family attended, many went to the podium to share thoughts of Amelia as well as her boyfriend Jim Long, who played excerpts from the Phantom of The Opera which she loved so much - he played this for her many times while she was in his care.
It was her wish to NOT have a “wake” or religious service but rather have a celebration service and party, which of course had to be hosted by her friends Ron Saul and Mike Campbell at their home where many such parties happened. As for her remains, she chose cremation and wish to have most of her ashes spread on North Captiva Island, the place of most of her happiness during her last year of her life.
